About Our Church

Baymeadows Baptist Church (BBC), located in Jacksonville, Florida, is a small, faithful congregation with deep roots and multi-generational ties. We have a fully-enrolled and accredited Christian school (K–8) and a daycare ministry serving 250+ students annually.

Our ministry is grounded in the King James Bible and a heart for both the gospel and the community. Through prayer, preaching, and practical service, we strive to be a place where families grow in grace and truth.

Position Summary

At Baymeadows Baptist Church, we believe God raises up shepherds to feed His flock with knowledge and understanding (Jeremiah 3:15). As we prepare for the retirement of our pastor of over 30 years, we are earnestly seeking the man of God He has chosen to serve as our full-time Senior Pastor.

We desire a Spirit-led preacher and teacher, one who boldly proclaims the Word of God, holds fast to conservative KJV doctrine, and leads with humility, wisdom, and conviction. Our next pastor will guide us with a Christ-centered vision—faithfully tending to our current congregation while helping us reach new families and generations with the gospel, including leadership of the school ministry.

Key Responsibilities

• Preach the gospel and provide spiritual guidance to the church
• Oversee church and school operations with Deacons and Trustees
• Supervise and evaluate all church and school staff annually
• Direct the order and conduct of all worship services
• Deliver engaging, biblically grounded sermons aligned with BBC doctrine
• Lead the youth and young adult ministries for spiritual growth
• Work with leadership to develop a church vision and community outreach
• Provide pastoral care: visitation, counseling, support during crisis
• Lead with wisdom in planning, delegation, conflict resolution, and church health

Qualifications

Education:

• Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree from an accredited institution
• Must have some seminary experience or working toward a Master of Divinity (M.Div.) and prefer counseling experience
